Onery Is a Good Start

Ornery does not even begin to describe our third child.  Olivia is somewhere between Mischievous and a downright stinker!  Yes, I know, most of this is her stage of development (says the books!) and part of me rejoices in watching her explore her world with the curiosity of monkey.  But I must admit, the other half of me is pulling out my hair, one at a time, on a daily basis.  Maybe I have lost perspective, but she seems to be more ornery than either of the other two combined.  She has gotten herself into quite some trouble these last few weeks, but it is a lesson in being careful what you pray for.

Olivia started physical therapy last month in effort to get her pulling up and walking.  I was a bit discouraged to be doing this again, but Olivia has truly thrived in her sessions.  Each week she is doing something new.  And she is on the verge of taking her first unassisted steps.  I don't think it will be too much longer.  In all honestly, her "curiosity" is a blessing!  Getting into things means she is pulling up, standing up, exploring and taking it all in, like a normal toddler.  It has just been a shock to my system while I adjust to having another toddler at my ankles.  Since Mia never went through most of the usual curiosities, we are almost five years removed from such things.  It kind of feels like the first time all over again.

Someone found the cornstarch while I was folding laundry.

Along with her ornery-ness, we are starting to see more and more of her personality.  She is a silly little girl, who loves to laugh with her sisters, screams to get attention and delights in giving kisses and hugs.  She fits in perfect!

Olivia eats much like her mommy did at this age.

Here's a video of our silly girl.  (Notice the tongue!)
