All in Stitches
Friday was quite the day, filled with all sorts of adventure! I have been promising the girls that they could have a lemonade and cookie stand during our annual neighborhood garage sale. What I didn't know is that when I woke up on Friday there were already several cars crawling through the streets. Yep, it was the sale and I am a momma that does everything in her power to keep her promises. So at 8 a.m., we headed out to buy paper cups and lemonade. We got home, quickly made some cookies, set up the girls stand, and I threw a few baby items out on the drive to see if they would sell.
The girls had a great time with their first lemonade stand. The cookies were gone within a half hour, but the lemonade went untouched. (We have since been drinking lemonade for days!). There were four other lemonade stands on our block alone, so there was stiff competition. The girls used the money they made to buy Polly Pocket cars at a garage sale. I love garage sales and found some great buys for the girls, and even a pair of jeans for me for $1!

It had been a long morning for everyone so after lunch I went to settle Olivia down for a nap when I realized she was running a fever. I gave her some Tylenol, put her in bed and begged the girls to stay quite while I finished cleaning up a bit downstairs. Soon the hallways rang with horrible screams. I have to admit that at first I was irritated thinking "Why are those girls screaming when I just put Livie to bed," but I soon realized these were more serious screams. I ran upstairs to find Mia laying on the floor next to the playroom with blood all over her face and in her hair and a pair of mangled glasses next to her. She apparently ran into the corner of the door frame and we think the glasses bent and cut her face. I took one look at the gash and all the blood and knew she would probably need stitches.
I quickly called a friend to have her come and stay with Olivia and Avery so I could run Mia to the ER. I HATE the ER, and I knew we may be there for awhile. Mia was quite brave and barely fussed as the doctor put in five bight blue stitches above her eye. She gets them out on Wednesday. She has been quite proud of them, showing everyone her "bluish stitches." She is one tough little cookie when it comes to things like this.

After a very long day, Chris and I canceled our previously scheduled date night and opted for a quiet evening at home.
