Alpaca Shearing

Some of our good friends' parents have an alpaca farm about twenty minutes from where we live.  Once a year they shear the alpacas so that they can sell their pricey wool.  We were invited to come out to one of the farms and watch this year.  It was neat to see these animals so close, although the ones being sheared were quite angry about it - screaming and spitting.  We did get to see a two week old baby alpaca though!  Mia was at school that day, so it was just Avery and Livie, but Avery was too chicken to go into the shearing barn due to the horrible noise the alpacas were making.  She stayed outside and admired the baby instead.

The two week old baby alpaca.  So cute!
