Merry Christmas
I know I am a little late in my blogging about Christmas, but I am just now recuperating from all the festivities. We were able to celebrate with both of our families, which meant two very busy, fun-filled days. We started off on Christmas Eve morning going to a breakfast at Uncle Kevin's work, Eli Lily. The girls really enjoyed getting to spend some one-on-one time with their uncle. Then that evening, my parents and Kevin came over to our house to celebrate Christmas together. On Christmas day, we enjoyed time to ourselves as we unwrapped gifts and celebrated Jesus' birth. Then Chris family came over in the afternoon for the rest of the day. It was wonderful to spend so much time with our families. Here are some highlights and some pictures.
My List of Christmas Favorites
- Avery's explosion of excitement after receiving Aqua Globes from my parents. (If you don't know, these are on infomercials all the time and they help water your house plants.) We could not stop laughing.
- The girls excitement Christmas morning when they saw that Santa had come. Avery had a lot of questions about Santa Claus this year....
- Watching the girls ride their new bikes in our unseasonable 60 degree weather.
- Rocking out to Guitar Hero with all of Chris' family. Chris plays a mean drums.
- Hearing the wonderful news that we have a nephew coming in May!
- Eating yummy Christmas goodies and drinking wassail.
- Putting candles in our monkey bread Christmas morning and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. This may have been Jesus' first monkey bread offering.
- Eating by candlelight every Sunday and reading the Christmas story to celebrate Advent.
- Starting new traditions and honoring old ones.
