Morocco for President?

This has been an exciting day with the buzz for the presidential election.  The girls and I started off the day talking about it.  I tried to explain what it was and told them the two candidates names.  I told them who I would be voting for and why.  They wanted to know what "issues" I was talking about, so I simply said "I am voting for the person I feel agrees more with the Bible and what God says."

I dropped off Avery at preschool and headed to the polls.  Mia, Livie and I waited in line for 65 minutes to vote!  Mia kept saying "I want to get inside and see the president!"  She couldn't quite grasp that we were not there to actually see the president.  She provided some entertainment in the long line.  I let Mia press the big red button to cast my vote.  We got our "I Voted!" stickers and were glad it was over.  We celebrated with our free Starbucks coffee afterwords

After picking up Avery, she said they had an election at school.  When I asked her who she voted for she said "Mom, I voted for Morocco!"  I could help bursting out laughing.  I asked her how she knew who to vote for and she said the teachers showed them pictures of the candidates.  "I liked Morocco's picture better than My Cane."  She was a little disappointed when she learned that we had "voted" for different candidates.  She said "Mom, I just liked his name better."  A child's simple innocence is so heart-warming.  I suppose I can't blame her - McCain ain't pretty

Now, we sit and wait for the results....  How long did you have to stand in line to vote today?

This cracked me up!!! I actually voted early, but Chris didn't have to stand in line at all (probably due to so many people voting early this year). Glad you voted for "the right guy" (in my opinion) and I happen to think he's quite a cute old man, at least in his younger years he was a pretty handsome fella!

2 hours... and I loved her reasoning!!! She certainly did pick the better-looking of the candidates! Mark tells me (*based on names alone) that he voted for John McCain, but Adam says he voted for "Rock Obama".
