Mia Turns 3!

I can't believe it, but Mia officially turns 3-years-old tomorrow!  We celebrated her birthday Sunday at a local park.  We had gorgeous weather and Mia had a wonderful time.  She loved all of her presents and plays with them every day.

Looking back, it felt like her 3rd birthday was always so far away.  For Mia this is a big birthday because it signifies the end of her participation in Indiana's early intervention program, First Steps.  We had to say a tearful goodbye to her physical therapist on Monday.  Tracey has been seeing Mia every week since she was four-months-old, and it was very hard to say goodbye.  Now Mia's therapy must either come from the public school system or through private insurance, a whole other pile of paperwork and headaches.  But God has truly blessed little Mia.  She is doing great and continues to make improvements.  Even just a year ago, she still wasn't walking, and now she can run across the room.  She has grown up in so many ways.  God has given her a patient and thankful heart.

Mia blew out all three candles all by herself.

Mia opens just one of the many Dora presents.
