Troxel Family of Five
Many of you have noticed my lack of blogging since Olivia came home on Wednesday. I suppose I just like to keep my audience on the edge of their seat. Ok , I am kidding, I have just been a bit busy. Chris returned to work on Thursday so there was no transition period. I was suddenly home, with three kids under the age of 4, and surprisingly it has been fine. It probably helps that Olivia is still on a typical house cat's schedule of eat, sleep, poop, repeat. It was actually kind of weird to have her home the first few days because we were so used to her being at the hospital. But that has quickly faded. We are so blessed to have her home and are enjoying every minute of it. And we do not miss the trips to the hospital at all, especially after three months of non-stop daily visits.Olivia has been doing really good eating, which is always a concern with any newborn, but especially a preemie. She eats like a horse. She usually eats about every 2 - 3 hours, but last night she decided to eat every hour for about three hours. As I was getting her dressed for church this morning, she was super tired and I told her "You must be tired from staying up all night and drinking." Then I realized how funny that sounded. I suppose I am a bit tired myself. She did have a doctor's appointment on Friday to check her weight and she had lost a few ounces, but Chris and I really think it was due to them using a different scale than the hospital because she eats so much. We go back on Wednesday to check her weight again.
Avery and Mia are adjusting well and are in love with their new sister. There is no shortage of kisses in our household right now. They are already getting better about giving Livie some space, but we still have a way to go. They still don't understand why they can't squeeze her, hold her or shake her hands. But they will get there. They just want to touch and love on her so bad but they are still trying to figure out how to do that. Avery has been my little helper around the house so that has been nice.
In the wee hours of the night (the only quiet time in this house!), I thank God for all three of our precious daughters. He has truly blessed us with an amazing family. And so, we start a new phase of our lives: Troxel Family, Family of Five!

Congrats on bringing Olivia home
