Wheel Chair Time

Today has been a much better day.  Although I still had a lingering headache when I woke up, it slowly faded away.  It has stayed away most of the day other than when I get up from bed, which you can imagine isn't much when you are on bed rest  Chris was able to work from the hospital today thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law who watched the girls for us.  It was so nice to have company here today.  It makes such a huge difference.  I also got to take a shower today, a special treat!  Natalie came and visited me this afternoon and brought me a wonderful salad.  Ahh, the joys of non-hospital food  We were able to sit and chat for a couple of hours and it was wonderful.

I would say though the highlight has been that I was approved for wheelchair time today.  I got 30 minutes to leave the room.  Chris took me out to the outdoor terrace here on my floor.  It was a beautiful day and I actually got to see it!  I had not been out of my room since Thursday and I cannot tell you how wonderful it felt to breathe fresh air!  I already know that wheelchair time will be my favorite part of the day.

I also had some special visitors today - two little puppies.  Yep, they come around and visit the long-term patients.  They hopped right up on my bed for a visit.  One even licked my big toe.  It was so cute.  My nurse also let me know that because I am a "long-termer" that I get free access to their direct movies (which originally it was $10/week to use this), and they have a patient advocate that can set up various things for me, like manicures, pedicures, massages, newspaper, etc.  The services aren't free, but she coordinates getting the people in here to do it and gets approval from the doctors.  That would be a special treat so I am keeping that in the back of my mind.

Then this evening, the girls, Chris, Jess and Geneva all came to visit me.  It was wonderful to see the girls and enjoy their hugs and kisses.  They are a little crazy while they are here, but it is so nice to see them.  I miss them so much!

I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning, so I hope that things will look good.  They will use this to determine my magnesium dosage, so I pray that they will not have to increase it because as they do, the side effects can get worse.  Plus they are going to do an ultrasound on the baby, so I am anxious to see how she is doing in there  She seems happy according to her heartbeat that they check twice a day.

Thanks again for your continued prayers.  After a depressing day, God truly lifted my spirits today by blessing me with loving visitors and the fresh scent of the outdoors!

Hi Cheryl! Glad to hear today was better for you. You are in my prayers. It was great to see the girls at Jazzercise yesterday but we miss you. I also want to thank you for the wonderful witness to God's provision and glory throughout this. Your strength and your faith are truly inspirational. So keep the updates coming and let us know what we can specifically pray for. Also, I'd be happy to do meals if your husband needs them. I wanted to put together something he could easily bring to the hospital that you all could share. Is someone coordinating meals for you?

God bless you and take those darn headaches away!
