Best Thank You Ever
Today has been a busy day at the Troxel house. It was chore day, which means the house needed desperately cleaned from head to toe. For those of you that know me, this is not a simple task because I am a bit of a neat-freak. It takes me most of the day. Luckily, my sweet husband now cleans the bathrooms so I don't have to inhale the harsh chemicals while I am pregnant. It is such a huge help! And besides helping more around the house, Chris has also been busy painting and remodeling the loft and downstairs bathroom. He has worked many long hours painting all by himself. Thank you so much sweetie! We also had the hole in our ceiling patched today! Yeah! We officially have our ceiling back, with no remnants for Chris' foot or any other body parts. (See December blog for more details.) We still have to repaint the ceiling but that will just have to wait.
Days like this are a little hard on the girls because Chris and I are so busy trying to get things done around the house. But today the girls really did great. They kept themselves entertained by coloring, doing puzzles, playing in the playroom and a few TV shows. It was really nice. I got a huge shock today when Avery sat down to "write letters." She does this often, writing letters to various people and making big stacks of them to "mail." Today she wanted to know how to write "thank you," so I wrote it on her page in crayon so that she could trace it. She worked intently for awhile then handed me the sweetest thank you I have ever received. It read "Thank You Mommy Cheryl." (Funny how she used my "real" name on it!). I asked her what she was thanking me for and she said "For cleaning all of my dirty laundry." I had just gotten done folding a big pile of clothes. What a sweetheart! And a smarty. She now knows how to write her first and last name, Mia, Mommy, and Daddy all without asking how to spell them.
