Long Weekend of Family Fun
This holiday weekend was filled with lots of fun with our families. This year we had Chris' family over to our house for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun. The boys manned the turkey fryer outside, while the girls stayed inside preparing the rest of the meal. Avery, Mia and I made bread in the shape of a turtle this year. This was the first year getting the girls involved and they were quite proud of their contribution. It was a big hit! Auntie Jess even came prepared with a craft to ward off hungry toddlers - coffee filter turkeys! It was a wonderful meal with a wonderful family.

The boys keeping warm by the fire while cooking the turkey. Craft Time!

Delicious turkey. (You can see a bit of the turtle bread in the background too.) Happy Thanksgiving!
On Friday, Avery and Chris put up the outside Christmas lights. Avery was quite excited to be helping Daddy, and she did a great job. She loves being Daddy's little helper.

Then on Saturday we headed to my parent's house for the weekend. The boys went "to feed the reindeer" (hunting), while the girls stayed inside baking Christmas cookies. Every year my mom and I get together and make cookies together. The girls are getting more and more involved. This year Avery helped out a lot. She loved icing the cookies (although she had trouble remembering not to lick her fingers - haha!). We even helped Mamaw put up their Christmas tree.

Avery decided to dress up like a real "baker" for cookie decorating this year!

Mia enjoyed helping with the sprinkles.
We are a little exhausted, but this weekend has made me feel very blessed.
