Late Arrival: Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Night

It has taken me a few days to get some pictures up from Halloween.  The sugar-rush is still ruling the house.  The night before Halloween we carved our pumpkins.  Chris helped Avery carve a princess pumpkin and I carved Mia a kitty cat.  As many of you know, Chris spends a great deal of time carving his pumpkin(s) each year.  He is the family pumpkin artist, if you will.

The girls really enjoyed Halloween.  This was the first year they both went out trick-or-treating.  We started off the evening handing out candy first.  Avery really took to this job and was reluctant to stop so we could go out ourselves.  After our friends arrived, we headed out.  Mia was so excited about the chocolate that the entire time she said "Mama Chocolate?"  Avery was determined to be the leader and usually walked at least one house ahead of the rest of us.  She scoped out each house, checking to see if they had their light on or not.  We returned to the house after about an hour and enjoyed pizza, sweets, cider and a bonfire with family and friends.

We are now left with a huge bowl of candy, leftover ghost cookies and some roasted pumpkin seeds.  We may never see the end of Halloween - ha-ha!
