Flower Girl Fun

We have had such a crazy and wonderful weekend.  Avery and I had the honor of being in one of my best friend's wedding on Saturday.  So, on Friday night we had the rehearsal dinner (although we were an hour late, but I will save that story for another day!).  Then on Saturday we woke up and headed to the salon to start the beautification process.  Avery loved every bit of this.  I was nervous that she would not let them do her hair because she gets quite fidgety and grumpy about things like that.  She did great!  And her hair was amazing.  She truly looked like a princess.  They even put a little blush on her and gave her her own lip gloss.

So, after hours of hair and makeup, we headed to the church to get dressed and take pictures.  Avery was a little resistant to pictures, but I can't complain.  I had prayed for extra patience all day and as it turns out God answered my prayers in a different way - by giving Avery an extreme level of patience herself.  I was quite stressed out about her making it down the isle and not making a big fuss.  And she did it!  When she got to the front she walked over to me and quietly said "See Mom, I made it down the isle this time!"  (She was in her Papaw's wedding in May and it did not go well, so we kind of expected the worst.)  She was beautiful and she was so happy for Megan.  She told me "I am so glad Megan and Nick fell in love."

The wedding and reception were wonderful.  Megan looked stunning and the ceremony was very nice.  The reception was at Fountain Square Theater and it was so much fun.  They had dinner and dancing, but there was also duckpin bowling and an old-fashion photo booth.  They had a scrapbook that you could add your photo booth pictures to along with a message.  It was a big hit and such a cool idea.  Avery, of course, danced her booty off.  Mia even joined in the dancing.  It was a wonderful day and Avery behaved so well!

And then on Sunday we were able to visit with our friends, The Knights, who came from out-of-town to the wedding.  We don't get to see them often and it was so nice to relax and catch up.  They have a little girl and she is getting so big.  She is so precious and I love watching my friends be parents.  Isn't it neat watching those we love blossom into such amazing parents?

We are all exhausted, but this weekend was such a special time for everyone.  Mia got to enjoy a lot of one-on-one time with Daddy too
