Budding Artist's First Real Picture!
Every Thursday at Avery's preschool is Show-And-Share day. Each child is to bring in something to share with the other students, preferably something that has to do with the letter or number they are working on that week. Last week, it was the letter M. We talked about all sorts of things that start with the letter M. Avery decided that for Show-And-Share she wanted to take a picture of Mia into school. I assumed she meant a photo so I had one ready for her. In the rush to get out the door the following morning, I quickly learned that she actually wanted to draw a picture of Mia to take to school. I told her I had misunderstood and that we didn't have time to do it now. After a little whining, she decided to take her Mia's Minnie Mouse ears, because that would have 3 M's.
When I picked her up from school, I found this drawing in her folder. I asked her what it was and she explained that when she got to school that morning, she decided to draw her picture of Mia. This is the first drawing she has ever made, other than scribbles and letters. I think it's brilliant!
