Quick update

As an update, Operation Blanket Removal (thanks for the cool name, Abby!) has gone more smoothly than expected.  Leaving blanket at home proved to be no big deal, but when it came to leaving blanket in her room until quiet time and bed time, I met some resistance.  I decided not to force it and so each night we prayed that God would give Avery the courage to leave blanket in her room the next day.  After three days of resistance, Avery decided on her own to keep blanket in her room.  We have had two solid days where blanket has been left in her room all day and only used during rest times!  Woo-hoo!  Perfect timing since we went to the dentist today and they encouraged us to continue to work on the thumb sucking.... slowly but surely.

Avery has also been doing sports camp this week so she has been quite exhausted after long evenings.  She gets to try football, basketball, soccer and cheerleading during this little mini-camp.  It is at her school so she was very excited to be back at her school and keeps asking me how long she has until school starts again.  She can't wait to go back

Other than that, things have been moving right along.  Mia has been struggling with a cold and was put back on breathing treatments two weeks ago.  Finally today they added an antibiotic because her pulmanologist thinks she may have a sinus infection.  I am hoping this clears things up because she has been coughing and snotty for over to weeks now.  I was nervous going into the nutritionalist appointment earlier this week because Mia's eating has not really improved much.  But to my surprise Mia gained a little weight.  Not what she should but that is better than losing weight at this point.  She is up to 19 lbs. 11 ounces now!  She is such a petite little thing.  Her physical therapist has also decided to try a specialized walker with Mia to help transition her into walking.  Her last several therapies have not gone well.  Mia can stand alone if we distract her enough.  We have to find a way to give her confidence to know she can do it.  It's frustrating but we keep trying to motivate her with new things.

There's the quick update for now...
