Milestones and princesses
Over this last weekend, I dug out the potty-training gear to start preparing for Mia. I know it is a littler early, but Mia takes some time warming up to almost all things. Plus, she has started to tell me when she goes pee-pee or poopy. So, I figured if we have these things out for awhile, it won't seem so odd when we want to use them. Mia instantly decided that she liked her new potty and started asking to be put on the potty when changing her diaper. Wanting to seize that moment, we started putting her on the potty after she wakes up and before her bath. To my shock, Mia went pee-pee in her little potty on Thursday. I about fell over. She looked at me and said "Pee-pee!" I don't want to force it or even begin to imagine that this means potty-training is around the corner but this was a very positive start to this adventure. We may have the only child who is potty-trained but that can't walk - haha! Mia loves to create her own milestone charts
And on that note, it looks like Mia may start using a walker to help her learn to walk. She can stand on her own, but she has very little confidence. We have to basically trick her into it. So, we are hoping a walker will help her feel more confident to start looking at her world more upright.
And princess Avery received some very exciting new this week (actually we all did). My amazing mom has decided to take us all on a trip to Florida and Disney World. I can't even begin to describe how excited (and grateful) we all are to have a fun-filled family vacation. And of course, Avery is very excited to go to "Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse" and see Cinderella's castle. I cannot wait to see her little face light up... We are going at the end of August, so hopefully most kiddos will be back in school and it won't be as crowded.
We enjoyed the 4th of July in our backyard, watching the neighborhood fireworks. It was a last minute decision and I am so glad we stayed home. Mia was terrified of them, so we put her to bed. And Avery was rather tired and after watching them for awhile decided she had had enough and went to bed voluntarily (wow!). Chris and I enjoyed the rest of the evening drinking coffee and relaxing. We are getting very excited about our upcoming camping trip!

Go, Mimi, go!
