Three girls under the age of 3!

Ok, so it is not what you are thinking.  No, I am not pregnant, but I had the pleasure of watching my niece, Geneva on Thursday while my sister-in-law and brother-in-law ran their summer art camp program.  I will admit, I was a little nervous.  That is a lot of little ones, plus Mia is rather clingy and require a lot of extra help with things, and since Geneva is 10 months old, she would need quite a bit of nurturing as well.  I thought it might be a rough day.  I had to take Mia to the doctor and that involved taking all three of the girls.  And as a bonus, I had forgotten a stroller.  So, I had to carry Mia in one arm, while I carried Geneva in her pumpkin seat in the other arm.  Avery carried my purse.  It was quite the spectacle.  But as it turns out, it was a wonderful day!  All of the girls played so well together.  Avery was my special helper all day and everything turned out just fine.  We really didn't want to give her back.  I have felt guilty because every time we are around Geneva, I am so busy with my own two girls that I haven't had a chance to really get to know her.  While my two girls napped, Geneva woke up from her nap early and we snuggled and played.  It was just the aunt/niece bonding I was looking for.  I will say it was a  bit exhausting, but well worth it.

Unfortunately, we did find out at the doctor that Mia lost 11 ounces since her last weight check 5 weeks ago.  Not great news, but some weight loss was expected when transitioning out of bottles.  So, we are keeping a close eye that she doesn't loose any more weight.  She is now 20 lbs 2 oz.

Later in the evening, while I was making dinner and we were settling down from our busy day, I noticed that Mia was unusually quiet.  When I peaked around the corner, this picture below is what I saw.... I had to laugh as she looked up at me with eyes of truly excitement.  She had been having quite a fun time.  Avery was terribly disturbed when she saw the mess and instantly picked them all back up and smashed them back into the box.

I love reading your blog...I feel like I know your girls even though I've never met them, and they are so adorable! You're a great mom - I'll be asking your for advice before too long!
