Love spring time (lots of picture)

We have definitely enjoyed the last several days.  The weather has been amazing and we got to spend the entire weekend doing fun family things.  On Friday I took the girls to the zoo.  We had such a good time seeing all the animals.  Both of the girls love the dolphin show!  Avery was a little disturbed because we saw a llama that had some hair missing and was laying on the ground like it wanted to die.  Rather than explain to her that the zoo isn't a place that is real fun for animals, I decided to just tell her the llama was probably feeling sick.  She started calling the llama "Mama Llama."  We went back and checked on Mama Llama several times and Avery spoke kind words to her.  Eventually Mama Llama sat up on her legs a little more and started to look better.  I think Avery felt a lot better to see that she had helped this llama feel better

Then on Friday night Chris and I got to have a night out.  Yeah, that's right - a real date!  It was for my birthday (a little delayed), but we needed a night out regardless.  We went to the Artist Vineyard in downtown Noblesville for wine, live jazz music and the most amazing cheeses.  I seriously loved the place and can't wait to go back.  I think our budget will probably keep us from there for awhile, but it was a perfect evening out.  It was so nice to relax and be able to talk.

On Saturday morning we got up early and headed into downtown Indy for the Race for the Cure.  The whole family did the 5K walk.  It was a wonderful day - the weather was perfect.  Avery even walked half of it (1.5 miles!) before sitting in the wagon with Mia.  Both of the girls seemed to enjoy the excitement of the day.  All of us girls wore Race for the Cure bandannas.  Afterward they had some games for the kids.  When we got home, we all rested for a bit before venturing out to find a lock nut for Avery's new princess bike I found at a garage sale.  This is Avery's first big girl bike and she was so excited.  She even has a matching helmet.  We were both excited to teach her how to ride the bike.  That was deflated when after five minutes she decided that she was getting frustrated.  She wants to push the pedals forward and little and then push them backwards right away, which is how you break.  So she really didn't get anywhere.  She used to do this on the tricycle, but it would allow you to pedal backwards on it.  So, she is trying to learn to go in the same direction to make one big circle - that is a lot harder to explain than what you might think.  She will eventually get it.

On Sunday, we were able to enjoy the outdoors a little before reality hit, and we decided to clean the house (me) and mow the lawn (Chris).  It was so nice to be able to enjoy the nice weather all weekend.  It was a refreshing ending to a hectic week.
We did find out the results of some of Mia's testing and they have her on a new medicine.  Her digestive system is extremely sluggish so this is supposed to help that along.  I haven't noticed any changes, but we will see.  She goes in for a bronchial scope on Wednesday so we get to see what the inside of her lungs look like.  That should be interesting.
